This Lesson lays the foundation for the series by defining the need for restoration to the things of God which the Church has left behind. Restoration is a going back, particularly to the promises and examples in the Book of Acts. The revival we need is for restoration of individuals, of individual churches, of the Church world-wide, of our nation.

Jeremiah warned the backslidden people of Judah over and over, but they shrugged their shoulder and continued in their ways. So God punished them with the destruction of their land, their exile into a strange land, and their captivity for 70 long years. Yet centuries before this judgement had fallen, God had spoken prophetically of His restoration for Israel. This series of events can illuminate our understanding of God's ways in purging sin and restoring souls.

King Hezehiah's actions in the first days of his reign reflect his deep-held feelings for the restoration of Judah's spiritual welfare. When you reflect on the details of what Hezehiah undertook to accomplish, you may gain understanding of what actions the Church of our day may be required to do also to restore God's blessings.

Among the exhortations King Hezekiah gave the people of Judah, and particularly to the priests and Levites, was that they not be negligent in their duties and service to God and to His house. This is a lessonvery relevant to our times.

This lesson is a moving appeal to set our top priority to prayer. If we want to see true revival in our churches, we must recognize that it wil be prayer that moves God's hand. While so many are so busy with so many unspiritual things, those who really desire God's blessing will need to seek it in earnest prayer.

An important step in the restoration of Israel was the sanctification of the high priest Joshua. How could he and the Levites minister to God when He found their garments filthy? And what lesson can we glean for ourselves from this episode?

Restoration requires repentance. That is the theme of this lesson. It is wonderful to desire revival, but we must recognize that restoration will require the dealings of God in our lives to purge us of sins and ways that displease Him. Another sobering topic in this lesson include a warning that we should expect satanic opposition when we determine to seek God.

In this final lesson for this series, the focus gets personal. You are the New Testament temple of the Holy Ghost, and the lessons you learned from the Old Testament must now be applied to you personally for revival to come to your life.
